Virginia's Application for IDEA FY '10 Part B Funds Now Available

The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has posted Virginia's application for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) FY '10 Part B funds (Children ages 3 - 21) on the VDOE Website at
http://www.doe.virginia.gov/special_ed/grants_funding/idea_part-b/va_application_idea_part-b.shtml

In accordance with federal requirements, the application must be made available to the public for 60 days prior to submission, 30 days of which public comments will be accepted.

The application, due May 10, 2010, includes:

General submission statements
Assurance statements
A spreadsheet describing the projected use of IDEA Part B funds for FY '10
A document that describes state-specific special education requirements.

Public comments are sought on the FY2010 Virginia Application for Part B Funds under IDEA. The deadline for comments is April 9, 2010.
