PEATC is pleased to announce its 3rd annual Parent and Youth Empowerment Summit to be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, VA. This year’s theme “Everyone has a Super Power ♦ Use yours for the greater good!” The goal of the Summit is to increase parents’ capacity to help their children with disabilities improve their secondary school learning and post-secondary outcomes and to increase the capacity of youth to be effective self-advocates.
PEATC views this Summit as an opportunity to provide youth with Special Needs and their parents the opportunity to gather information and ideas from presentations and exhibitors, to network and connect with other families, in order to feel empowered by the experience.
The Summit will consist of break-out sessions with concurrent tracks per session: Self-Advocate Tracks (Ages 12 & up) and Special Education/Mental Health Tracks.
If you have knowledge and expertise in these topic areas, PEATC encourages you to submit a proposal to participate as a presenter at the 2017 PEATC Parent and Youth Empowerment Summit. We are seeking unique presentations that will provide Summit participants with a wide range of relevant content, innovative ideas, and interesting viewpoints from which to choose.

• Relevance to the special needs community
