PEATC is pleased to announce our Parent and Youth Exhibiting Strength Summit to be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 in Williamsburg, VA. We will kick off the conference events with a Community Networking Reception on Friday night, September 16th. The goal of the Summit is to increase parents’ capacity to help their children with disabilities improve their secondary school learning and post-secondary outcomes and to increase the capacity of youth to be effective self-advocates.
Food, beverages, one-night hotel accommodation (Friday, September 16th) and summit materials are at no-cost for accepted attendees. Limited space available.
PEATC views this Summit as an opportunity to provide youth with Special Needs (including those with Mental Health needs) and their parents the opportunity to gather information and ideas from presentations and exhibitors, to network and connect with other families, in order to feel empowered.
The Summit will consist of break-out sessions with concurrent Self-Advocate Tracks (Ages 6-12 years, Teens, & Young Adults), Special Education (General) Tracks, and Special Education/Mental Health Tracks.
We are seeking proposals from presenters and exhibitors with expertise in the areas of Special Education, Mental Health, or Self-Advocacy.
