The Asperger Syndrome Information and Support group helps families with children (ages 3-23) who have Asperger syndrome, high functioning autism, non-verbal learning disabilities, PDD-NOS (pervasive developmental delay - not otherwise specified) and other related social communication skills disabilities. We generally meet on a monthly basis during the school year, alternating daytime and evening meetings. We discuss issues of common interest, exchange information on resources and strategies that have helped our children, and try to support each other and create community support for our families. We also have an active listserve for exchanging information. Meetings are usually held in Arlington. Parents, grandparents, caregivers are all welcome to attend our meetings. While the majority of our families reside in Arlington, we do have members from close-in Fairfax County communities.
