The Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center assists the families of children with disabilities through education, information and training. PEATC builds parent-professional partnerships to promote success in school and community life through:
  • Information and assistance to families in understanding and negotiating the education and service systems for their children with disabilities;
  • Training for families and professionals that model partnerships and encourage active learning; and

The Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center believes that children with disabilities reach their full potential when families and professionals enjoy an equal, respectful partnership. PEATC believes that:
  • All children deserve the opportunity to live, learn and participate fully in their communities;
  • Families are children's first and best teachers;
  • Information and training enrich and empower families and professionals, strengthening their partnership; and
  • Citizens with disabilities, achieving independence with appropriate supports, make valuable contributions to society.
